Fun Learning English: The Magic of Children’s Books

I Love You children's book cover

Do you remember a favorite book from your childhood? For me, it was Dinosaur Ben. This book holds a special place in my heart, because it was the first book that I was able to read by myself. At first, my Mom read it to me, many times. Eventually I recognized all of the words myself – and the world of reading opened up to me!

Today I believe that reading children’s books to a child can be a magical activity for someone who is learning English. Here’s why:

Children’s books use simple words and sentences, making it easy to read and talk in English. At the same time, you will probably see new words and expressions that will add to your English vocabulary.

But the best part of reading stories to your child, is the time that you spend together. It’s an activity that creates special moments that both of you will always remember.

So, grab a colorful book, jump into the story, and enjoy the ride of learning English with your child!

In the following video, I read “I love you!”, a children’s book I self-published in 2020. I encourage you to watch the video, both with the sound on (to hear the words) and with the sound off (to practice on your own). If you’re interested in purchasing the book, please contact me!
